Food Sovereignty

This is our first year that we have organically grown fresh vegetables for sale. We are very excited to provide healthy, locally grown food to support the health and well being of our community.

There is a term for communities that are able to feed themselves: food sovereignty. The Farm at Bent River has staff that is working hard to contribute to the food sovereignty of the Verde Valley.

Grown local

There are wonderful greens: All Star lettuce mix, Asian Lettuce Mix, Small leaf and large leaf Kale and Swiss Chard. Spinach, and head-lettuce as well as herbs and microgreens; There are carrots, red beets, radishes both watermelon and Easter egg. Gold and Green Zucchini and Patty Pan Squash. We have farm fresh, free range chicken eggs.

As a tantalizing preview of what is to come: There is fresh garlic drying in the barn and onions about ready to harvest; Sweet corn is growing in the field that should be ready next month. Tomato plants are blooming and setting small tomatoes in the hoop houses while flowers are growing in the fields to support the bees and other insects and provide color and joy for community homes.

Welcome to The Farm at Bent River. Come and enjoy our local, healthy, responsibly grown food.
